Huggy Wuggies are the boss enemy in the Dark Deception multiplayer game Monsters & Mortals, who appears in the "Poppy Panic" map from the Poppy Playtime DLC.
Appearance[]
Huggy Wuggy is a tall, slender creature covered in thick, bright blue fur. His arms and legs are several feet in length, and end in large yellow hands and feet. The hands have large Velcro straps on them, and the feet possess four digits including thumbs, though they are fused together and are unable to move individually (with the exception of the thumbs). His torso is stout and disproportionately small in comparison to his long limbs. His head is large and contains two large black, dilated eyes. On his face are oversized. Behind his lips is a maw of dozens of jagged needle-like teeth. Closer observation of Huggy's mouth shows a secondary set of jaws located by his throat, akin to that of a Moray Eel.
Behavior[]
When boss time is activated 4 Huggy Wuggies will appear in set locations. 1 will spawn in the ventilation area, 1 will spawn in the hallways, 1 will in the "Playtime" area where the podium is, and the last one will spawn in the "Make a Friend" area. Once they are on the map they will chase after a selected player until they are killed, then a new target is chosen. They are quite fast. So fast that only Support and Speed characters can easily get away. If they attack you it will do 30 damage. Unlike other bosses to where you can dodge their attack, if they attack you WILL be hit. They also have a "rubber band" mechanic. If the targeted player is very far away from the Huggy Wuggy instance it will gain speed to reach them faster. Only slowing down when near them and even then, he is fast.
Unlike every other boss time in the game you can kill them. 3 heavy attacks or 6 light attacks will do the job (knocking them on the ground.) However, consider that as long as the boss time event is occurring the one you kill will respawn where it's spawn location is at so be careful so you don't make one respawn near you. Try and kill one that will respawn far away or just run away.
Your best counter is to keep moving while cutting corners, use items and Ultimate Abilities to survive until the boss time event is over, or kill it. Just remember that killing it will just make that instance respawn where it started. Try not to have all 4 on you since that can rack up if you get caught out for even a moment.
Trivia[]
- He is the first boss who can be killed by players
- On DLC launch he didn't have his "rubber band" mechanic and was so slow that the Power characters can get away from him
