Dark Deception Enhanced+ is a massive free update to the first 4 chapters of Dark Deception. It will launch with the main goal so that the first 4 chapters of the game are visually and mechanically upgraded so they match the quality of Chapter 5.
Changes[]
The changes listed are only some that are already known. A full updated list will be shared when the update releases.
Overall Changes[]
- Bug fixes, visual improvements and lightning changes to every level.
- Upgrade of all character models. Some received a texture update and others got a redesign.
- New option settings such as Motion Blur.
- New difficulties: Hard Mode and Demon Mode.
- New Third-Person Mode
- New Archive Room named "Reflection Realm"
- Localization update + addition of missing localization for Chapter 4.

Chapter 3[]
Stranger Sewers[]
- Zone 2 will have different lighting than zone 1 to better differentiate the two with Vince stating that "It looks more like a sewer now."
Crazy Carnevil[]
- Clown Spiders from Monsters & Mortals are now in the level itself, appearing in zones and in the Goliath Clowns boss fight instead of Clown Gremlins.
- Unlike Gremlins, Clown Spiders take two hits to be killed instead of one.

Mascot Mayhem[]
- Revamped intro cutscene.
- A new area in zone 1.
- New/fixed jumpscares for Penny the Chicken.
- New cutscenes, explaining some plot holes/questions (e.g. why did Doug not teleport behind Joy Kill in the end of the level, and what happened to the self-destruct sequence).
- Zone 3 is now much bigger.

Trivia[]
- The name Enhanced+ is actually just a code name given by the fans. The update itself doesn't have an official name and is just labelled as "CH1-CH4 update"
- This update was originally going to release alongside Chapter 5, but the creators managed to find a way to extract CH5 assets from the game to avoid leaks.
- Initially, the update was going to release in late 2024, but it got delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which did not allow some actors to record new voicelines, like Chris Jay Alex (Lucky the Rabbit).
- Elementary Evil is going to be the most worked level in Enhanced+ update, with Mascot Mayhem likely being a close second
- With Enhanced+, Dark Deception will have its price increased US$34.99 for the Complete DLC, while per chapter it will be $8.99.
- Enchanted+ basically turns dark deception into a new game according to two posts on twitter
- The Archive Room's name "Reflection Realm" is the same name of a CH5 OST, likely being the Archive Room's theme
- Once all model updates are shown dark deception Enhanced+ Update will be released (4 characters remaining)
- Along with this update's release, a Chapter 5 teaser trailer is set to release
