Ayano is a playable monster in the Dark Deception multiplayer game Monsters & Mortals and would have been the main antagonist in the cancelled crossover game Ayano's Lovesick Labyrinth. She was released alongside with Senpai, Hanako and Info Chan in the Yandere Simulator pack.
Appearance[]
She wears the school uniform for Akademi, has pale skin, dark grey eyes, and straight, long black hair. Her hair is tied into a high ponytail with sharp bangs swept to both sides, the middle one being the most prominent, and two strands of hair that frame her face, reaching to her shoulders.
Personality[]
In Yandere Simulator, it is suggested that she has Obsessive Love Disorder, a real-life medical condition which perfectly explains what a Yandere is. Due to her condition, Ayano is shown to be rather extremely selfish and uncaring to others. She only cares about pursuing Senpai as she believes the one that made her complete is the only thing that matters to her, much like her mother. Her focus on getting Senpai's love is most likely powered by her fear of losing her chance to feel alive forever, like her mother felt when she was her age. Due to her Mother's crimes in 1989 and her share of behavior as her mother, Ayano is instantly disliked by those who have grudge against Ryoba such as Kocho Shuyona and Megami Saikou that have clearly no respect for her and do not tolerate her presence in Akademi, despite Ayano having not killed anyone yet, at the beginning of the game. The characters who know her true nature have also hatred towards her and expect her to end up repeating her mother's crimes in the future.
Due to being mentally unstable, Ayano is shown to be very sensitive when it comes to her Senpai. It is evidenced in SNAP mode that Ayano will enter in enraged state whenever things go wrong, even when it's something a normal person could come back from.
Ayano is also shown to be extremely delusional due to her believing that she is more worthy of Senpai's love than the rivals because they could never love him as she can, when in reality, she isn't, as evidenced from when she saw Osana Najimi.
Monsters & Mortals[]
As a Monster of the Balanced class, Ayano is average at collecting shards, attacking, and moving with an average amount of health. These stats are shared with the other Balanced Monsters. She attacks with a sword.
Her Ultimate Ability, "Snap Mode", When used she will stun all enemies nearby her similar to Primal Fear. Enemies will be stunned for 7 seconds and you will be slowed for 7 seconds. During this time Ayano will put away her sword and use her fists to attack the enemies automatically and sort of rapidly (no input from the player besides pressing Q) which is timed with the animation so you know when the punches will connect. Her attack ranged is reduced significantly as well. Each hit does 24 damage. If you are near a lot of players in an open space use it to kill them all quickly. Just make sure you are very close to them more than usual before you activate it.
Her actual attack damage is multiplied by 0.4 according to the 1.7.5 patch notes. However, it is actually multiplied by 0.8.

There is a bug with this UA that sometimes the duration will last longer than 7 seconds, leaving Ayano vulnerable and slower for 3 seconds. This also affects the stun duration on enemies, making it shorter or longer than the intended 7 seconds.
Strategy[]
When Ayano is near the players in an open space, use her ultimate to kill them all quickly. Just make sure she is closer to the target before activating it.
Unlike most characters, neither the items from portal boxes like Invincibility nor the ultimates that would grant debuffs, healing, or damage resistance are ineffective due to her ultimate having a 7 second stun.
While her ultimate is considered one of the deadliest abilities in the game, Ayano moves very slowly for a lengthy amount of time when it activates. This can be very punishing if her ultimate ability misses the targets, which means other players can easily run away to gain more distance, use stun, and/or try to finish her off if her HP is very low. It is also not viable to use this during Boss Time (Shard Mayhem only) or Trap Time, as the NPCs can easily deplete most of her HP while her ultimate remains active.

Ayano's Lovesick Labyrinth[]
In this game, Ayano will most likely a threat to the player as Taro is her target. Since its confirmed that Malak will be appearing in the crossover game, it is currently unknown if Ayano will become Malak's ally who would assist her to kill the protagonist at all costs.

Trivia[]
- Despite her DLC reveal teaser showing her covered in blood, in the DLC itself she doesn't have an alternate skin for this appearance or ever gets covered in blood at all.
- Her in game texture files are the reason or a potential reason, why the Yandere Simulator DLC has a content warning on the Steam store page. Her breasts having more details on it like nipples unlike the other female characters in this DLC who have theirs censored.
- Ayano is unique as she is so far the only monster who is almost completely indistinguishable from a mortal.
- Ayano is now unobtainable due to her DLC getting cancelled.
